Scope: To design a control panel with the latest Eurotherm nanodac controller/recorder for control of heating and full traceabilty of mash tun tank temperature.
When we were asked to design a control system for a microbrewery, who wouldn't jump at the chance? Working with Guy from Urban Island brewing company made it a real pleasure.
The control system we designed for the microbrewery was a complex one, as it had to regulate the temperature and timing of various processes. We made sure that the system was user-friendly, with a simple interface that could be operated by Guy and his team.
The system we designed used advanced sensors, controllers, and software to monitor and control every aspect of the brewing process. We installed temperature sensors in the fermenting tanks and used controllers to adjust the temperature as needed.
One of the challenges we faced was ensuring that the system was flexible enough to handle different types of beer and cider. We had to design the system to allow for different brewing processes and recipes, while still maintaining the same level of control and accuracy.
Overall, working on the microbrewery control system was a fascinating and rewarding experience. We were able to apply our expertise in control systems engineering to create a solution that met all of Guy's requirements and exceeded his expectations. We look forward to further collaboration with Urban Island and other breweries in the future.
Eurotherm iTools Software: Configuring the Nanodac controller.
The user-friendly interface of the Nanodac allowed for easy configuration and monitoring of process variables. The ability to create customized screens, alarms, and trends was impressive and very useful. Additionally, the remote access feature allowed for remote monitoring and control of the process, making it very convenient. Overall, the Nanodac controller seems to be a reliable and efficient tool for process control and monitoring.
